Operations Manager

Summary: Assists the General Manager in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the attractions. Manages the operations staff including ride operators, ticket sales and outside service providers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist General Manager in planning, directing, and overseeing the daily operations of the St. Louis Wheel, Carousel, Mini-Golf, and any future attractions including staff coordination

  • Responsible for enforcing company guidelines for safety, uniforms, grooming standards, and attendance and human resource policies

  • Ensure that the company is compliant with all labor laws

  • Assist in evaluations, training, and motivating of staff

  • Coordinates with Management Team in handling employee issues and concerns

  • Ensures that Queue Lines remain neat and orderly

  • Ensures that load and unload times are efficient and up to standard

  • Works close with all departments to ensure a smooth operation

  • Reviews the work of subordinates, evaluates and makes recommendation, and offers advice and/or assistance

  • Works with Management Team to create, revise, monitor, evaluate, and adjust the facility’s efforts in achieving the critical success factors

  • Constantly on the facility grounds to monitor staff performance, facility cleanliness, safety conditions, and overall guest satisfaction

  • Responds to guest needs and takes corrective action as necessary

  • Performs employee evaluations and records disciplinary action, as necessary

  • Selects, trains, and instructs new employees on facility protocol and procedures

  • Implements training procedures and promotes the concept of teamwork amongst all facility staff

  • Ensures a pleasant and safe work environment for all team members

  • Oversight of all day to day operations of the facility including ride operations, facility services, security, maintenance, ticket sales, and guest services

  • Assist with coordination of human resources recruitment needs

  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures of facility

  • Collects and communicates all operational and technical issues to General Manager

  • Assist Management Team with emergency preparation for power outages, weather, and ride incidents

  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues and to effect continual improvements by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law

  • Must be able to complete operator training for all attractions and duty manager training (training provided).

  • Other duties as assigned

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Education/Experience:

One to two years related experience and/or training in operating amusement rides and facilities.

Maintenance Manager

Summary: Maintain the highest standard of park operational repair and maintenance by meeting all required guidelines.  Manages the maintenance staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily safety inspections of attractions and property

  • Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment of building, and grounds

  • Complete employee work schedules on a weekly basis

  • Reviews work orders to determine priorities, staffing, and use of outside vendors.

  • Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric, power, gas, or air that is required for operations

  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with management, engineering, and maintenance staff

  • Assign jobs to staff to assure facility working order

  • Maintain records on all work completed and safety inspections

  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards

  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials

  • Reviews new products plans and discusses equipment needs and modification with design engineers

  • Complete knowledge of set up and repair of equipment as it relates to: Electrical, Welding, Carpentry, Plumbing, Pumps & Motors, Fiberglass, A/C, and Refrigeration

  • Establish vendor contacts, solicit bids, and order all related products

  • Maintains all working areas, are safe and clean at all times

  • Implement annual park rehab program

  • Assists in annual park capital improvement program as required

  • Turn on and shut off all rides daily

  • Develop all line schedules and budgets

  • Select and train all maintenance staff members

  • Accountable for tools and materials

  • Complete yearly governmental certification

  • Must be able to complete operator training for all attractions and duty manager training (training provided).

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
